Chapter 08: Stranded

after walking at the shore... he happened to pass by at Cristy's studio. the exterior of the studio at front is a show glass, so you can see the people such as kids who were practicing the hula dance. then he saw her.... dancing and playing with the other kids. he didnt know that she's fond with kids, but the one that caught his eyes when he's watching her dancing with Cristy and the other kids.

dancing in the studio with the other kids makes her more feel energetic. she felt like she was just like the same age with the kids, then Cristy took the kids break... and come back later, only her and Cristy left. she's still wanted to dance so Cristy change the song and teach her another steps. but as the steps getting hard, she cant follow her anymore. Rissa took a break for awhile so she stopped and sit at the corner watching Cristy dancing.

Cristy: why did you stop?
Rissa: i felt tired already...
Cristy: you know this is one of the advantages of hula dance... you just let your heart follow to the melody of the song.
Rissa: what do you mean?
Cristy: if your heart is not with the melody of the song... of course you'll be distract and you just think that this is a practice...
Rissa: i see... its just that the steps are getting harder.
Cristy: its not that hard... (she pulled Rissa to dance again...) c'mon, let's go... i'll teach you slowly.

while they were dancing, Ruan tapped Ney's back... noticing that his friend was watching his wife.

Ruan: mmmm.... isnt your wife look so sexy while she's dancing? (then he do the hula dance, which Ney laugh at him)
Ney: you're crazy!
Ruan: i just want you to realize that you can actually make your wife fall in love with you...
Ney: (his laugh fade away when Ruan said those words) thats not possible... why should i make her fall in love with me???
Ruan: Ney, you two are just starting... why dont you grab this chance now...
Ney: what chance? you know that we could never treat ourselves like what you're expecting... nor friends... never-
Ruan: ok...ok... but if there's only one person who could understand you... only Rissa who could understand you. believe me...
Ney: whatever... i dont wanna listen anymore...

before Ney leave him, Cristy and Rissa saw them talking outside. Ruan's wife was waving at them, Ney smiled at her... but when he was about to look at his wife... his smile fade away and then he left.

at home, Cristy was asking her husband why Ney walk away awhile ago... Rissa was in the guest room but she didnt lock the door. so she heard Ruan and Cristy were talking about them...

Cristy: why they are being harsh with each other...
Ruan: thats what i am saying to him, but he didnt want to listen. i even told him that its about his chance to fall for... i mean Rissa is not so bad as what he thinks... its just that they dont have good memories since we were high school.
Cristy: you mean they are really enemies since high school?
Ruan: yeah... though i always siding on Ney because we are friends. i know Rissa did good things to him too. the only problem is that they always seeing the negative side of them... that's why they always argue... and nothing to do but always argue.

after Rissa heard the conversations between Ruan and his wife, she was thinking and realizing that its really true... they never had a good relationship eversince.

its getting dark already but Ney hasnt come back yet... they dont know where Ney went, they wonder why he's still not home. Ruan and Cristy are worried already... of course its expected that Rissa wasnt really worried, the two cant do anything about Rissa's behavior anymore... but when Rissa lock herself inside the room... she know that she doesnt have to worry with Ney because she really didnt care for him... but for some reason her heart beats faster, she was actually worried about Ney.


it was already midnight when Ney came back in the house... Ruan and Cristy were worried so much, but the one who pisses him off when Rissa was yelling at him as he get inside the guest room. he was drunk and didnt feel well and now when he came back... he'll just received a yell from his MOST LOVELY WIFE. she was yellign at him because what he did was to worry the people inside the house, then he got home showing that his really DRUNK.

its Rissa's unlucky moment, she realized that her husband is drunk... he hold her hand and lock her against the wall.

Rissa: let me go, you drunkard!
Ney: who's drunkard, huh??? (he wasnt letting her go) you thought i will not do something to you!?! because of you.... my life felt miserable...
Rissa: shut up! you think you're the only one who felt miserable... you selfish DORK! let me go!
Ney: this will take not so easy... (when he was about to kiss her, only inch away but then... Rissa kicked his balls)
Rissa:(he release her and slowly falling down on the floor... she kicked him for how many times) PERVERTED DORK! grrrrr!!!!
Ney: awwwwwwwwwwww..... stop it now....
Rissa: you think i wont stop! you PERVERT!!! what you just did to me... was attempted RAPE!!!!!!
Ney: how can it be ATTEMPTED RAPE if you're my wife already! (she kick him again)
Rissa: its still a RAPE! you always wanted take advantage of me!!!!!! you ASSHOLE! PERVERT!!! DORK!!! (she kick him again for 3 times)
Ney: stop it already!!!!!!!!

she finally stop... finally she gets what she want, she kicked him for how many times... he should be thank that she didnt gave him a hard punch... she wanted to see a blood on his face... but glad she only sees him in marked bruises...

Rissa: (she was arranging the bed and she get his pillow to give him) here... you go sleep there... (pointing the sofa...)
Ney: why should i sleep there... i want to sleep on the bed...
Rissa: do you want me to kick you again??? i command you to sleep there!
Ney: but- (she attempted to kick him again but... he use the pillow to cover him and said) ok, fine! i'll sleep here... (whispering... "BITCH")
Rissa: what did you say?
Ney: nothing... i said i will sleep here... MY LOVELY WIFE...
Rissa: what!?! (she tried to kick him but he look back at her and sleep right away)

the next day Ney woke up early.... when he get up, he sees Rissa still sleeping. everytime he looks at her... he just felt sad and enrage. what she did last night to him was really bad and he cant do anything about it. he cant still believe that he got married with the person he hates most... years that he always encounter her, years that Rissa always bullied him; from insulting to arrogance... only one word that describes on how he felt right now... HATE. but for some reason, there's something strange to what he feels right now... something's weird that makes his heart beats faster everytime he look at her face.

he turned away and get out of the room. Ruan and Cristy is preparing breakfast.... they were only looking at him, his eyes still swelling because he just woke up... Ney knew that Ruan and Cristy heard them last night arguing. then when Cristy was done preparing the food, she called Ney.

Cristy: Ney, have some breakfast first...
Ruan: (Ney stood up and went to the dining room to have breakfast with them) Ney... where were you yesterday?
Ney: i just went for a walk and happen to pass by at the bar...
Ruan: i just thought that you're mad at me... i just wanna say sorry and forget about-
Ney: no... im not mad you... its just that it will never work out of what you said yesterday.
Ruan: ok...ok... end of story... i wont interfere anymore...
Cristy: i will wake Rissa first...
Ney: no... dont wake her up... she dont like someone's waking her... (he didnt know that she's already awake and was standing at his back, while he's sitting on the chair...)
Rissa: i heard you...
Ruan: good morning, Rissa... why dont you join us....
Rissa: im not hungry.... and i dont wanna eat breakfast with someone I DONT LIKE....
Ney: Ru, can i borrow your yacht?
Ruan: sure... but why are you going for sail?
Ney: i dont feel like staying here with someone I REALLY REALLY DONT LIKE....
Rissa: wait.... you dont have time to sail because we are going to the hotel to invest-
Ney: im not coming and i will do what i want to do...
Rissa: but we still have to investigate the tape! (then Cristy interrupt)
Cristy: what tape???
Ney: why dont you go by yourself! (he stood up and he look at Ruan) Ru, can you give me the key now??? (he was referring the key for the yacht)
Ruan: (he get the key at the drawer and Ney followed him. he whispered to Ney while giving the key...) Ney, can you two stop this nonsense... she's your wife...

Ney didnt listen, he walk out and leave them be... Rissa was pissed and Cristy told her to follow her husband, so she followed him.

he got inside the yacht to start it but he heard that Rissa was calling him outside... she even get inside the yacht.

Ney: why are you following me?
Rissa: im not following you, im here to tell you that WE dont have time anymore... you know that we have to investigate-
Ney: why dont you investigate for yourself!
Rissa: what!?!
Ney: you know.... i just realize that im not here to investigate... because its not fun at all. im here to enjoy myself, so if you really want to investigate about the tape... why dont you investigate for yourself!

the couple (Ruan and Cristy) knew that Ney and Rissa were having a BIG fight... so they follow them. Ruan cant take it anymore seeing the two ere fighting so he interrupt and try to stop them.

Ruan: stop now you two... (then Ney and Rissa stop fighting.) no matter what you do. it wont change of what happened. rather than fighting... why dont you rather think that your marriage is about reconciliation. (the two became silent. then Cristy wanted the two make up now, so she thinks another idea)
Cristy: why dont we go sailing... just the 4 of us.
Ruan: better idea... lets go... (they got inside the yacht.)

while sailing, the two were not talking... they chose not to argue anymore because of Ruan and Cristy was there for them.

they went to visit a castaway island. since Ruan was planning to leave them in that island, Cristy didnt like his idea... but Ruan was only thinking that it might work out their relationship... maybe not loving as husband and wife, but at least reconciliation for them... might end up as friends.

Ruan: Hun, i feel thirsty... i left my WATER at the yacht...
Ney: i'll come... (Rissa look at him)
Ruan: no... we'll just go back... we'll just get some water... why dont you two stay here and talk...
Rissa: there's nothing we can talk anymore... (snob at Ney)
Ruan: will you two stop now... if you're always like that... me and my wife will leave you here... we'll be right back, we'll just get some water...

minutes later, Ney was just only sitting at the sand... watching the scenery of the beach, while Rissa take a walk at the seashore. she was thinking that she over did last night about what happened (kick his balls and even kick him for how many times), but he deserves it. she doesnt want someone took advantage of her... especially if that person is terribly DRUNK. the one she hated most is that... she still cant accept the fact that she married someone like HIM(Ney). so for her, how he could be so obscene. but right now, when she remembered what Ruan said awhile ago "rather than fighting... why dont you rather think that your marriage is about reconciliation....", well for her... why not, but she dont want to offer a peace first... she wants him to go first. but he was doing nothing and all they have right now... is PRIDE.


meanwhile, Ney notice that the yacht is getting far... he get up and was waving for Ruan (asking him where were they going), then his friend was saying something. he cant see him and he cant even hear him clear. Rissa also notice that the yacht is getting far... Ney and Rissa look at each other, they realize that Ruan ditched them. leaving them stranded in the island. they were both pissed off because Ruan did this to them. they have no food or anything to eat, of course Ney know how to survive at times like this... but to be with someone he hate most... he dont think he will survive. though they were both pissed off, they're still not talking, apathetic to each other... it just makes sense to them.


hours later, it's getting dark already and they their stomach's growling from hunger. Rissa look at him and when he look at her... she look away. he her stomach's growling, he knew that they are both hungry.

Ney: are you hungry? (she didnt speak... obviously she's really hungry because they didnt even eat lunch today...) im gonna go find some food to eat...

he went to find some food to eat. since its getting dark already... he thought he could find some food to eat. he just went to get some coconuts, when he went back... Rissa was just looking at him. he get his swiss knife to open the two coconuts, while he was opening the coconuts... suddenly he wounded his index finger accidentally. widen her eyes when she saw him enduring the wound, but he was still opening the coconut. then he wanted to gave the coconut but he was refusing...

Ney: we dont have the food to eat... so better take this... (she still didnt talk to him) Rissa... why are you not talking to me??? (she's so hard on him, she stood up and was trying to walk out. so Ney followed her, bringing the coconut) where are you going? Rissa! why the hell you're not talking to me!?! what's wrong with you!?! Rissa, talk to me! (she's walking away, nowhere to go) fine! how much is by word just to make you speak!?! (she turn around to look at him)
Rissa: IM-NOT-HUNGRY-!
Ney: there! finally you speak, i might as well pay ONE MILLION BAHT every WORD!
Rissa: as if you can pay me! Dork! i hate you!
Ney: yeah, right... i know that along time ago... when did you never stop hating me... dont worry because i hate you too... (he started to walk away, return to the place where he was sitting awhile ago... but before he walk away) if you dont wanna eat, i dont care anymore!

its already late at night... Ney help himself to make a bonfire. they are 30 meters far from each other, he didnt want to talk her anymore... but he's kinda worried because she's alone and its also dark. he knew that Rissa lives her life like a princess and she never knew how these things in basic life as a survivor. he's still pissed off because Ruan did this to them, but for sure Ruan will come back tomorrow for them. for sure he'll be mad at him and scold him. he still doesnt understand why Ruan want him to hooked up with a girl he doesnt like. then his mind went back to Rissa when he's starting to worried, so he got up and tried to approach Rissa again.

when he went there to see her and ask her again to stay with him near at the bonfire, he suddenly saw Rissa laying on the sand but he saw her experiencing... chilling in coldness and having a high fever. he carry her and went back to his place, he didnt know what to do when he saw her having chills and he felt alarmed to himself. he started to undress and use it as a blanket for Rissa, he let her stay near at the bonfire so that her chillness go down.

he didnt sleep because of her, he's worried... he then realized that for some reason he forgot his hatred for Rissa. right now, the only thing he feels right now is worried and was hoping for her to recover. he doesnt know hwy he felt so worried, all his hatred and pride... has gone when he sees her in this kind of situation.

when finally she woke up, she saw him sleeping... half-naked, then she suddenly realize that he used his clothes as blanket for her last night. yes, she remembered everything... but she has no strength anymore to argue with him anymore, because she was suffering in coldness last night. though she didnt ask for help, she admit that at the same time she was touch by his concern... even though they had a big since yesterday. she didnt want to woke him up, but when she was trying to return his shirt and use it as a blanket for him... he woke up.

she was not a little surprise when he woke up suddenly but she see him again without the eyeglasses. (readers: please imagine this scene a slow motion when he suddenly woke up and nod at her...)

Ney: Rissa... (he touch her forehead... he wanted to know if she still have a fever...)
Rissa: what are you doing?
Ney: im just wanted to know if you still have fever... (she was just looking at him... savoring the moment that he was not wearing eyeglasses)
Rissa: (she put away his hand and look away from him) what did you do to me last night???
Ney: nothing... you were sick last night, thats why im asking. i even used my shirt just to blanket you last night. i took care of you. (he wasnt s sound arguing, Rissa thought but she's still hard on him)
Rissa: but did i told you to take care of me???
Ney: no. i just did what i have to do... doesnt that make sense to you...
Rissa: no... because whatever you do to me... it will still no good... and one more thing, if i say i hate you... i really hate you...!


he didnt say anything but she knew that he hurt him again... he doesnt care and he dont want to listen to her anymore.

minutes later, Ruan's yacht is coming. as Ruan get out of the boat he knew that Ney was mad at him, but he still approach his best friend...

Ruan: Ney, did already talk to her? (smiling)
Ney: do you think leaving us here would make it any better? (showing his mad face)
Ruan: so you mean... you didnt talk to her?
Ney: why dont you ask her? you know, you're actually my best friend but you dont have to do this to me.
Ruan: i was just trying to help...
Ney: what kind of help is this???
Ruan: as your best friend, i know by myself... and you might not realize yet... but soon you'll realize...
Ney: what realize??? i dont have to realized anything.... because ME and Rissa are mortal enemies. PERIOD. (raising his two hands saying that he had enough) i want to go home... tomorrow i will go back to Thailand. (he got inside of the yacht... then he look at Rissa who got inside of the yacht already, sitting right next to Cristy)... we're gonna go home tomorrow (he said to Rissa...)


as they got back from Ruan's house, Ney and Rissa starting to pack... the house is full of silence, Ruan didnt talk to his best friend who's about to go back to Thailand tomorrow. Ney and Rissa never talk, until it became dark... Rissa joined lunch and dinner with them but Ney didn't, he wasnt hungry at all. when Rissa was about to go and get early sleep for tomorrow's flight, as she entered the room she saw Ney sleeping at the sofa. she felt relief when he was sleeping at the sofa and she didnt have to command him or kick him anymore, but she felt guilty since this morning... she felt uncomfortable at the same time.

until the airport, he was still not talking to her... Ruan said goodbye to his best friend and cheer him up... he smiled (meaning that they already forget about yesterday). until they got in the plane, he's been silent from last night and since this morning... though he saw him smiling at Ruan... but for her, he was quiet. while at the plane, she ask him...

Rissa: why are you so quiet?
Ney: im tired. (he said timidly)
Rissa: you're just avoiding me...
Ney: i am... because im tired of arguing with you. is that enough answer?
Rissa: well said... (then Ney went back to take a nap...)

because of Ney's phobia, he always try to get some nap so that he wont feel it's starting to fly.
